100 Days of Kisses is a project I’ve had on my mind for a few years. I feel that the world needs some softness right now… and what better time to write into this during the fall?
Beyond the obvious themes of affection, love, and friendship, we will also explore myth
landscape
transformation
betrayal,
and more.
This is how it will work:
Every day for 100 days, you will receive an email with a prompt or image to respond to.
You have 24 hours to respond in the group email, or as much time as you like to write it for yourself.
You won’t be disqualified for missing days or not responding (some people prefer to keep their first draft to themselves, and that’s fine too).
This is primarily a writing challenge, but you are free to respond to the artwork however you want.
We will meet in January online to share (a selection of) our writing/responses on Zoom.
Because the challenge is so long, any amount of writing each day will add up to quite a collection of words. I recommend keeping all the writing in the same notebook or document. You’ll be surprised at the gems that emerge over time once you establish the habit. Some people who do this kind of challenge find they build a writing muscle that stays strong long after the challenge ends.
The Pay-What-You-Can method relies on trust and social reciprocity. It assumes enough participants will pay the full price to cover costs and time. I am a freelancer with no fixed income, but I also wish to offer my services to those who cannot justify the cost of a workshop of this magnitude. With your help, I hope to offer partial or full scholarships.
For these same reasons, the workshop can only take place if we reach a quota. You can pay via Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal.
