I’ll join this panel on Sunday, 27th October, at this year’s American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) conference. I will discuss the Maltese language and the joys and challenges of translating Nadia Mifsud’s poetry in our upcoming publication Variations of Silence (Poetry Wala, 2025).

An interesting and relevant conference, highlighting what I think are topical issues in translating poetry, often a hard nut to crack due to the complexity of thought and implication within a couple of words which do not always translate easily into another language.
